About Elizabeth

Thanks for stopping by! :)

I’m an artist/photographer residing in the beautiful Pacific Northwest United States. All work shot with iPhone and edited on iPhone/iPad.

My work is fueled and inspired daily by my immense gratitude, respect and wonder for all things Natural. My own face has, over the past two years, become my preferred canvas on which to blend Reality and Possibility.

My other passions and interests include my four amazing children, pen and ink drawing, reading, any type of music and, of course, drooling over other artist’s work.

All images are mine, please ask if you’d like to borrow! Kindly respect artist’s copyright law.

I hope you enjoy my works ~ comments and/or questions welcome!

I love your work Elizabeth, I arrived at your site via instagram. Just how addictive are the iphone apps? I love it! I’ve just broken my iphone 3 so off to get an iphone 4s!!! I’ll let you know how I get on :D

Keep up the awesome work! P.s. which are your favourite apps? I’m liking snapseed at the moment!

Hi, Corinne! Thank you so much for coming by! Do you have an IG id so I can follow you?

The apping can be incredibly addictive, and buying them can be too, though you wind up using the same ten or so…some folks have over a hundred of them, or more. I love creating works with this medium, as I can access it anywhere!! :)
I also love Snapseed! I use Iris, Scratchcam, Pixlromatic, Noir, FX PhotoStudio, DXP, Blender, Decim8 and Pic Grunger the most…lots of folks swear by Filterstorm, Hipstamatic and Camera Bag, too…I have yet to try those myself.

Thanks again for your visit and your sweet words! Good luck, happy apping, and hope to see you and your work on IG or on IPA (iphoneart.com – great site!)

PS – forgive my late response to your comment!! I didn’t receive notification about it!

Hi Liz,

Just saw your blurb on P1xels which led me here. I had no idea you had set up a site but I’m so happy to see that you have. As you know, I am a huge fan of your amazing work. Your trees in particular are a real inspiration for me. Your portraits constantly leave me in awe and bewildered – just how did you manage that effect? Most importantly though you work is uniquely yours. I can always recognize a Moaning Tree when I see a tiny thumbnail. Congrats on the site! Now, that hard part for me, which Moaning Tree to buy?!

Your number one fan,

Shane

Dear Shane,

I was just about to post my latest avian pics and this amazing comment of yours popped up as needing moderation…??? I am SO sorry, I have had this happen before with WP, I swear I wasn’t ignoring you! And oh wow, what can I say except THANK YOU for you phenomenal support and never ending encouragement…I pray you know I feel the very same about your own work!! :-) Thank you again, for everything, and for stopping by my wee site! I’m enjoying having a personal home for my work…do you have a website or blog? And perhaps we can swap prints? I’d love to have one (lots, actually!) of yours to hang here…well, take good care, Happy New Year, and thank you!

~Liz

I love your work and your website. I ordered some prints and the process was all easy! Thanks, too, for the poetry and titles you post with your work. They add so much.

Wow, thank you so much for stopping by, and for your very generous order! I hope you enjoy your prints…& I love the poetry, too :-)

Thanks again!

Hi Elizabeth…I really enjoy your work on Instagram. It’s very very interesting and unique, I think. And, I thought you should check out a website that I’m also on…that I feel you should be involved in–it’s iphoneart.com. The work there is very good and is a warmly supportive community. When you get a chance check it out. They always look for the best iphoneographers doing the best work which yours definitely belongs in. Great work–love it!
Robert Aller

Dear Robert,

Thank you so very much for your kind words, you’ve totally made my day! :)

I am very familiar with IPhoneArt.com, my ID there is themoaningtree ~ I haven’t logged in in almost a month though, so I really must get back into the swing of things at IPA! I have found the new limit of 5images uploaded per day a bit challenging…once I got behind, it was harder to keep my work current there. You are SO right about the artists on that site, hard to find nicer folks :-) I will be sure to look you up and add you to my favorite artists.

Thank you for stopping by my site and for leaving this awesome note!

Sincerely,

Liz Grilli

Hey!

Glad I found you’re site! Wish you were still on Instagram though, but it’s all good. When you made the announcement of leaving IG, I thought you also mentioned something about a Facebook page? If so, I can’t find it! Anyhow, love you’re work! So much inspiration! Hope all is well, and take care!

Hey, Chris! Thanks for looking me up! I miss IG, and the awesome people, but not the amount of time it sucked from my day :D My page on fb is The Moaning Tree ~ iPhone Photography – if you search under pages, it ought to come up. I’m Liz Grilli on fb too…and I’ll try to find you there as well. Hope you’re doing good! <3

Sad to see you left IG but happy to have found your website. Glad to see you are still creating your amazing photos!

-Andrea

Dear Andrea ~ thank you so much for your kindness, that means so much to me! I have always admired your work and I have been pleased to see it on IPA as well as P1xels!

I miss many of the people on IG, but it was absolutely the right move for me ~ I had let the networking take priority
over the creating…a big mistake. :-)

I hope you and yours are well…take care, and I thank you again!

I Am Going To have to return again whenever my course load lets up – nonetheless I am getting your Rss feed so i can read your internet site offline. Thanks.

Liz,

What a wonderful site you have! Your work is always phenomenal and I’ve been a huge fan since first discovering your work. Your self portraits are always unique and out of this world. Possibly cathartic? Keep on cranking out that badass work!

Hey, Joel!

Wow, thank you! Yes, the selfs are quite cathartic, also a sort of escape from everyday suburban life…I wish I was actually as interesting as any of them lol Anyway, you rock it hard yourself, my man! :) And because of that, your visit here and your comment mean the world to me. I’m one of your biggest fans…your art is AWESOMELY cool and exciting. Take care of you!

~Liz

Hi Liz – I hope you can take time to watch the PBS Nature film on Hummingbirds. I enjoy your work – an inspiration to a newbie like myself – still an uphill struggle with advanced app techniques – I never studied photoshop or any digital graphics and put my film camera away more than 17 years ago to renew interest in Nov 11, with the purchase of a 4s.
Cheers!

Dear Tracy ~ I will absolutely watch the PBS show, I adore anything avian-related, especially the miraculous hummingbirds. Thank you so very much for stopping by my site, and for your thoughtful words <3 <3

Hi Elizabeth, good works! I’m interested about the photo PYRAMID LAKE FISHERY, if you have prints and misures, let me know…
Lorenzo

Hello Elizabeth! By chance I saw the link to your site on IG (while browsing YOUR pics, wouldn’t you know). I just wanted to let you know that I love what you do. Your art is amazing to me and very inspiring. Thanks for sharing it all for us to see and feel! –Peter

Hey, Peter! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet words. This site is woefully behind, but your thoughtfulness will help motivate me to get it up to date :-) Thanks so much, you’ve made my evening a brighter one! You know I love your work, I look forward to keeping in touch on IG. Take care and best wishes to you and yours!
